Tulsa pictures: Wednesday

The kids were all making boxes to hold popcorn for a movie they were anticipating later that day.

Statue 1: praying hands.  It was an amazing statue.

Beautiful gardens...but hot.

Statue number 2: Disappointing after the praying hands.  We also couldn't actually get out to see it, so just did a driveby

Monday: this and that

We tried out a new (small) hiking trail today.  It was really nice.  There was a small interchange where three trails met and Isaac really enjoyed going around it...over and over.  There was also a medium sized loop of prairie that the boys ran around an extra time or two.  It surprised me.

After groceries I brought up the toys that have patiently waited in the basement for the last year.  They haven't been switched out for other toys yet, but the boys were enjoying playing with toys that they missed.

Joshua successfully rode his bike today!  He did it past about three or four driveways.

It was the boys' last day of karate for a while.  Case numbers are going up due to the delta variant, although Michigan has been pretty good until now.  Masks are rarely being worn.  The membership renewal is in just a few days, so we just canceled now.  I expect they'll go back once numbers go down or they get vaccinated.  Zoom was an option, but it isn't a great option and we'd be the only family.

Sunday: treasure hunts

This morning I printed out a treasure hunt for the boys.  They enjoyed it, but it was much better for Isaac than Joshua.

So I found one that I could print out for Joshua too.(https://makeatreasurehunt.treasure-hunt-ideas.co.uk/)
It worked pretty well...it would have been a bit better if his reading skills were better, but he worked diligently at it.

Joshua and Isaac make treasure hunts for Ben and me too...and they both did a really good job.  I was afraid that Isaac's would be crazy intricate, but it was nicely done.  Isaac mentioned that it's a lot of work to set it up. :)

Saturday: hammock

The day started out playing a game.  It was on long side, and took up most of the morning.  Joshua did a good job sticking with it, even though when it wasn't your turn waiting could get a bit long.

We went to Russ' with Larry and Cheryl.  Isaac was proud of his drawing.  (It says to enter the drawing into a contest for a free kids' meal.  So far we've won a kids' meal 100% of the time we've entered.)

At the end of the day Joshua and Grey Bear joined me in the hammock and talked my ear off about Minecraft.
