Monday: pep talk
We need to be like a litter of cute white kittens. Except Shiro, who drowns white kittens and therefore needs to be a black puppy. Anyway, we'll saunter up to Illidian being all cute and all so he doesn't expect anything. Then we'll go all PYCHSO KITTEN AND SCRATCH AND BITE AND KILL ILLIDIAN! We have to put our heart into it, just like kittens do. They don't care about anything except hurting their prey. Then once he's dead we can go back to being all adorable and innocent and get our white kitten points. But during the pychso kitten stage we have to put our soul into it.

Saturday: home improvements
Today Dad was around so we painted the spare bedroom "popcorn." It is a white color, but since the trim is white-white you can see it is off-white and it looks really nice.
We also got a laundry shelf put up. This turned out to be oddly difficult, especially since I wanted the extra wide shelf.
Hi Dad.

Thursday
Well, Dad stopped by for dinner yesterday and that was fun. Ben finished cleaning the house while I was out and it looked awesome when I returned, so Dad was able to see a picked up house. Yay!

Tuesday: long day
Today was a long day. Work was busy, but not quite busy enough to make it fly by. Then came home, quickly ate some dinner, went to Bible study, came home, did some work for Amy, attempted to clean up and at least make some of the house look presentable for Dad. Now I'm going to bed.

Update: badges
I have to badge to get in and out of a lot of doors at work. Probably about 30 times per day right now. This always involves waving my badge at a reader.
Today I was walking down some stairs to a non-badge door, only to discover I'm waving my badge at it. Sigh. At least it opened.
Then I was going out of a door that you only have to badge into. I went through the door and then waved my badge at the reader...as it is wasn't sure that I should have been let out.
Hmm. This was a lot funnier in my head. Well, I still think its funny.

Saturday: flashback
This morning I woke up...and went to work on a paper for Advisor Amy. Well, it's almost done.
This weekend is being slightly stressful. There are a lot of things to do between not having done anything last week, Dad coming this week/weekend, and it being nice out and wanting to do some spring cleaning type stuff. I also managed to stain my work khakis, and don't know how I feel about that. Normally I'd chalk it up to being dumb and move on. Except that I might be in the same situation, and again stain, my pants. So do I start wearing jeans? That's rather unprofessional. Sigh. The not-so-big decisions that are so annoying.

Thursday: the future and flowers
This is what I want to be able to tell my kids..."When I was your age the dentist cleaned our teeth with instruments of torture. You're lucky that you just have the inconvenience of sitting in the chair for an hour while the Zapamouth painlessly cleans your teeth."
Ok, fine. My grandkids.
My flowers are starting to come up:
So are my weeds. The weeds are growing faster.

Wednesday: mouth
I have a canker sore on my tongue. It really is the worst place to get it because it always makes it hard to talk and eat and I can't put any medicine on it...it just doesn't seem to work. I also have a dentist appointment tomorrow that I haven't been flossing for. I hope they don't hurt my tongue. I tried rescheduling, but they didn't have anything open until June. :(

Monday: uh oh
I've started getting spam comments. I might have to implement the dreaded "type these almost illegible letters that make no sense into this box."
Monday: Firefly
Ben and I have started watching Firefly. We're only half way through it and I'm already sad that there is just one season.
My favorite character is Kaylie. She kind of reminds me of myself, only smarter. And cuter. Wow, I've been thinking about this post all night and that was all I can come up with. Just you'll have to watch the show yourself and see what I mean.

Saturday: more fun in the sun
Today we went out on the boat again to Fort Meyers. I had a delicious fruit salad for lunch. I love fruit salads. I also got burned, even though I tried really hard not to. I was red after yesterday, but not enough to hurt. Today the sunblock must have just not been enough. Yay for ibuprofen. The hurt is gone. I love medicine.

Friday: Florida
Well, Ben and I made it to Florida. The trip down here was surprisingly smooth, actually. We spent some time just hanging out and in the pool with everyone on Thursday. I ended up falling asleep around 8pm (keep in mind we got up at 4am), woke up for about 45 minutes to go to bed, and then slept until 10am. I must have really needed some sleep.
Today we went out on the boat. :) It was fun and warm. It's fun having everyone around. Jacob loves playing with Ben and Ashlyn has a lot more of a personality than she did at Christmas, so that's been fun too.
Jacob: I have reasons why you shouldn't through me in the river.
Me: oh yeah? What are they?
Jacob: The fish might tickle me.

Monday: why I need to emulate my cat
The last post was boring. I'm trying again.
Flurry loves yogurt. It could easily be her favorite food by the way she acts around it. She tries to get it using one tactic, and when she is pushed away she tries a different tactic. Then a third tactic. Then back to the first.
My prayer life needs to be persistent like my cat trying to get yogurt. My cat is almost always successful, why shouldn't I be?

Monday: whoa
Work was either a lot of fun or frustrating today. Needless to say, I was rather out of it by the time I left work.

Sunday: bridal shower
Today I went to a bridal shower for a friend from church. It was for all the women of the church, but I still got a personal invitation. Where am I going with this? It's nice to be getting to know some more people and start feeling a bit more like the church is home rather than just a place I go. It is nice to have people recognize me and know enough about them that there can be some real conversations, not just superficial stuff.
However, I'm still new enough that I wasn't asked to be on the planning committee for this event, which didn't hurt my feelings in the least. There were only a gazillion gifts and I was able to sneak out a little early because I was tired.

Saturday
Friday: breaking news
If you're doing CPR to a person, you are no longer supposed to stop and breathe for them. There is enough O2 in the blood and the CPR-giver can't move the blood enough for the O2 to run out.

Thursday: if people could fly like superman
A few days ago on my walk I contemplated what it would be like if people could fly like superman. Well, like superman meaning no wings. Probably a speed of about 25 mph would be like an easy walk.
Would there be such a "global economy"? Because if 25 mph is an easy distance to fly, there might not be the need for such a big transportation infrastructure.
Would people be in better shape? You can fly farther faster than walking, so maybe. This might depend on the road system and if that is even an option.
How would movement of goods work? It seems like we would either need a clever thing to carry/pull around with us while we fly or...vehicles. Wow, it all comes back to vehicles and roads.

Tuesday: Spring is here again!
(Sigh, Rockband songs stuck in your head.)
Anyway, it was a beautiful day out today. I found an excuese to walk to the main building during the day so I could be outside a bit. Then there were some getting home troubles, so I walked to go get the car. However, my plan backfired a bit and when I was about 2/3 of the way to the car it started pouring out. Of course, I wasn't close to a building so I just kept walking. It was actually kind of fun.
