Saturday: home improvements

Well, since Dad is here we did some home improvements today. We fixed the toilet (surprisingly easy), painted the trim, fixed the grill, and prepped some stuff for tomorrow. We also grilled now that the grill is working and ate outside...it was very nice.

Thursday: grass

Well, our lawn is actually starting to look like a lawn.

Wednesday: Dad's here

Dad's here tonight :). We had dinner and played a game and watched some TV.

Tuesday: picnic

Well, even though it was really warm yesterday, it was very cool today on the second grilling session of the week. This time it was with our Bible Study. So after eating and being cold everyone came to our house to play games. It was a lot of fun.

Monday: Memorial Day

This morning I got a donut for breakfast. On our way to Dunkin Donuts we realized that the grass had started to pop up.
We went to Dusty and Laura's for an excellent cook-out
...and delicious desserts
And came home to discover there was a visible difference in our lawn. (Same area, different lighting...it's hard to see the difference.)

Sunday

Today was a nice day, especially knowing that we don't have to work tomorrow.

Friday: more walls

As we enter the story, Ben is trying to find a location at work and has been walking around for about 20 minutes...

"And then I ran into a wall where the room was supposed to be. I go around trying to find a different way in, but can't. Since I have nothing better to do, I start asking around to see if anyone else can help me."

Dusty and Amanda: "Nothing better to do?"

Ben: "Well, I can't drill a hole through the wall."

Laughter.

Dusty: "I was thinking more along the lines of real work."

Ben: drill sounds.

Hmm. Maybe you had to be there.

Thursday

Today was an average day. Good things, badish things, in between things. I'm excited for the long weekend even though we don't have any special plans.

Wednesday

I noticed the other day that King size m&m's don't exist anymore. They're "Tear n' Share." So I shared some. But I still think that is a dumb size name.

I'm also rather tired.

Monday: the current lawn

Well, the landscaping is pretty much done. The lawn has been seeded and the green stuff is an anti-erosion something. (Not grass :( ) We were told it would be a few weeks before we actually had a lawn, but if we're lucky some grass will start growing at the end of the week.

Saturday: Aaron and Heather's wedding

Some friends of ours from church got married today. :) It was beautiful.

Friday: Science museum

Today we went to the Ithaca Science Museum.

We made robots. Here is Morg my back massager:Here is Bob, Ben's dog excersizer

And I rode the triceratops
There was also a cool ball machine thing. Kind of like a Rube-Goldberg machine.

Thursday: Happy Happy

Happy Birthday to Jamie.

Happy Anniversary to Ben and Amanda. We went to see a waterfall and just had a really nice day in Ithica. For dinner we had a Buffalo chicken egg roll appetizer that was really good.

Wednesday: Landscaping

We have some dirt.

Tuesday: 22 minutes

Today I lost my pen cap. 22 minutes later I found it. If it had been 8 more minutes, a bucketload of paperwork would need to have been filled out. Phew.

Sunday: Happy Mother's Day

Hmm, it turns out that my "recent picture with Mom" collection isn't really large. So I present some older "pictures with Mom."

Thursday: more pics :)

Flurry (playing with Ben)

The tree with the removed dead/low branches and rocks from where they dug the wall. One will make a nice sitting spot.

The other wall.

Wednesday: golf

Ben and I went to the driving range with some friends after work.

Here's the latest on the landscaping. The back wall has been started. The picture is very blurry, but at least gives an idea.

Tuesday: we have a wall!

Hmm, the stone and the dirt contrast more in real life. Ah well, it's a beautiful wall.

Monday: rocky ground

Landscaping started today. Here is a large rock they took out of the trench behind it. The size of the rock and trench are hard to see. :(

Here is all of our retaining wall...

And here is the electric and gas lines. We'll note that they are supposed to be buried 2 ft underground, but, uh, aren't. Ben dealt with this situation which luckily could have been much worse before telling me about it. Yay Ben! He knew I would stress and there wasn't anything I could do about it.

Sunday: thanks to Discover card

Well, after several, several years of saving up our cashback bonus with Discover card we finally decided to used some of it. We got a new printer.

WoW news: I finally hit exalted with Shattered Sun. Why do you care? Because I can now make a super healing trinket. The problem is that I need about a gazillion more mats before I can actually make it.

Also, this new Shattered Sun area has caused some serious inflation/deflation on the auction house. Today I would like to complain about cloth. It is more economically wise to make a stack of bandages and vendor them than to sell the cloth on the AH. However the environmentalist in me screams bloody-murder at this. I feel like I am polluting my environment.

Saturday: a nice day.

Saturday was a nice day. Travis was over and we enjoyed that. We also watched Serenity, which culminated the Firefly series. It brought together a lot of plot lines, so that was nice.

We also had some friends from church over for dinner and games.

Friday: wine tasting

Tonight I went to a wine tasting with Laura and several people I didn't know. It was pretty fun. I had an apple and a raspberry wine that I liked. The rest of it...eh, just ok. But it was fun to do something different and meet some new people.

Thursday: sitting in a raid

Well, we're back to our least favorite boss fight...council. It has an adjective in front of it. Illidian's council? Illidari council? Whatever, it doesn't matter. We pretty much always take about ten tries to kill them. And it isn't as though we're still learning the fight. We just can't do it.

Anyway, so we just all died and now were waiting for someone new to come in so you have to listen to my ramblings. I've already checked all my comics and tried the crossword puzzle and even looked at the news. I've also checked the bank accounts (still no economic stimulus check).

So work has been a little annoying the past few days. I just feel like I'm trying to fix a lot of stuff that is broken. Hopefully it'll get better in a few days though. I've also been "invited" to present at a meeting for some fairly high level people on what I'm doing. I'll admit, I figured the first "presentation" I had to give would at least include some people that I know for support. Oh well, I've given enough of these types in school that that part should at least be fine.

Oh, we just killed them. I didn't think we were going to. It was kind of a how-many-people-can-die-and-we'll-still-win? Now onto Illidian which has some of the same problems but at least we haven't beaten it yet so it feels a bit different.
