Thursday: compliment

I was handed a surprising compliment today..."Using Google Meet in the classroom was one of the best ideas [the department] has had in 10 years."

Is it that amazing?  I'm not really sure.  However, I was troubleshooting my excel problem a few days ago and didn't use it for a class and it was terrible.  The students in the corners were craning their heads all around and it felt so much slower and more interrupted.

Monday: cancelled

Joshua's gymnastics class was canceled today due to instructor illness.  They told us well in advance, but then I suddenly had more time than normal with Joshua that I didn't know how to fill.

We ended up going to 'CC's playground.'  Since it was a day she was working, we even got to say hi and got a little tour.  Joshua also played for an hour and a half, which was significantly longer than I was expecting.

Sunday: communion

Isaac took his first communion today.  In the past he's declined, but this morning he asked to do so.  I was overjoyed.

Saturday: progressive dinner

Tonight we had a progressive dinner.  It was a lot of fun.  We saw some people that we haven't talked to in a while and met some new people too.

Friday: love story

Lately I've found it interesting how you can see some parts of a couple's love story, but you never see all of it.

I was reading through some letters that my Grandpa wrote in August 1931 to his sister and found the following:

"I'm going to Battle Creek [where Grandma was living] again Sat morning!  If you could only feel as I do just for a minute, you wouldn't think so badly of me.  I'm not sure whether I can wait that long or not.  ...I've learned what love is."

Thursday: class

I had a few laughs in class today.  I'm usually not funny, so the laughter was nice.

To be fair, the things weren't really that funny.
**************
Since it was the day after testing at karate we did fun things.  We worked with bo staves.  Usually though, they set up the obstacle course and I know it is one of Isaac's favorite things.  So at the very end they set up the obstacle course.  The next class started and so Isaac was able to run it all by himself to his heart's content.  Just one more reason I really like our school.
