Tuesday: calls and cats

I made a lot of phone calls today, one of the things I really don't enjoy doing.  Then I realized they were all for Isaac.  It seems like I should have made him make the phone calls, but let's be honest, there a bit more complicated than he could deal with.

Joshua took several pictures of cats today for something related to school.  I added a few more.

Joshua also made a bunch of minecraft-themed pencil toppers.  After testing all of them, I chose the sword.  It was a good day for it, since I actually had some things to write.

Monday

Hmm, it was a rather normal day I guess.  Both boys had slightly different (and more fun) work for school since it's the last week.

It was also a nice cloudy day.  (Rather humid though too, due to the periodic drizzles we had.)

Sunday: communion, recital

We started the morning with a kayak ride.  I don't have any pictures, but it was a nice (short) ride.

Church had communion, and so we did too.  It was a little bit make-shift, but Christ is in all parts of life, even half a loaf of bread and fruit punch.  (I'll admit though, fruit punch was a weird flavor.  I should have opened a bottle of mead.)

Isaac had his piano recital today.  Due to weird phone messages, it's in two parts.

Saturday: hike

We went on a hike this morning.  Ben and I had woken up too early and the day was going to be too long if we didn't go somewhere.  It was supposed to be rather warm today, so I made the decision early.  The boys actually seemed to have a good time, which isn't always the case for hikes.

And look!  An outside picture where Joshua has his eyes open!

Thursday: stuff

I've almost finished the laundry.  I feel like that is all I've done for the last three days; I didn't do it last week and then we went camping and it rather exploded.

We're also in the middle of dealing with a bunch of things that require other people.  Assorted work on the house, meetings, etc.  Ben and I sent several emails to each other the last few days and then took a while when he got home to discuss everything else.  It's nothing all that major or stressful, but it feels like a lot of things to remember.

Therefore, it was especially funny when we had a conversation today that spanned about five hours.  Ben told me something when he got home.  After the kids went to bed I responded.  An hour later he responded.  (It wasn't a fight.  It was just one of those random things where the other person had information and it took a while to relate it.)

In other news, Joshua made a penguin giving a piggy-back ride to Ben.

Wednesday

I took in the sleeping bags after airing them out and someone promptly claimed them.

Cheryl took us out to lunch.  Besides camping, it's the first time we've been out to eat since ...I can't remember when.  Probably about last May.

Tuesday: back at it.

I got a remote page turner for the kindle!  I've been looking for one for a while.  Either I didn't look very hard or it recently came on the market.  I am excited for warm hands and not having to move my hands when I'm comfy.

Our mattress was feeling sloped so I was taking a look.  (We recently raised the headboard and didn't support the slats properly.)  That's besides the point though.  The insides edges of the bed were ridiculously full of dust.  One more thing to put on the periodic cleaning list...

Joshua worked really hard on making an alien ship today.  He really did a great job.

This is how I found Isaac watching one of his videos today.  Giraffe has been sitting on his head a lot lately.
