Friday: A day off

Today was a nice day off. We played some Warcraft, put up Christmas decorations, did some chores (sad but true), and reminded Flurry several times that she can't eat the Christmas tree. I did put on some Caedmon's Call while doing chores, so that was fun.

Thursday: Thanksgiving

Today we enjoyed a nice and relaxing morning and then went over to Dusty and Laura's for dinner. There were six of us and we had way too much food (not surprisingly), but all of it turned out really good. A few more pictures are here.

Figuring out how to carve the turkey:

Solution? Use a lot of forks.

All the food:

A short list of things I'm thankful for:
Ben
blankets
books
calculators
cameras
chocolate
computers
cream cheese frosting
dishwashers
e-mail
family
flowers
Flurry
freedom of religion
God
grace
houses
jobs
laughter
love
memories
naps
pants
potatoes
showers
slippers
spice tea
trees
Worship songs
WoW

And Flurry is ready to put up the Christmas tree! (She's been guarding the lights in the bag for some time now.)

Wednesday: Last work day

Ah. I only worked for a half day today. That really is the way to go. A little work to give you something to do, but you still have plenty of time to do whatever else you need to do.

I got Flurry a new toy while doing errands. She loves it. It might be because there's catnip in it, but I prefer to think she loves it because it's from me. I also found some dress shirts with long enough sleeves, so that's exciting. I got a light blue one and a red striped one. I was debating between a red one and a black striped one, and then found one that combined both! It was a great moment.

Once I finally got home I played WoW, took a nap, and ate dinner. I need to make Mom's cranberry jello for tomorrow yet. However, there is no cranberry jello anymore. Nor are there cans of "whole berries." There are frozen whole berries, but I know that wasn't what was used. I ended up with frozen raspberries because those are still pretty small. So it'll be more of a raspberry jello than cranberry, but both are tart

Tuesday: another long day

Well, today I again worked some extra hours so I can leave early tomorrow. I got my program that I've been working on up-to snuff. There is one more thing I might have to do to it, but it should be easy to implement because I already figured out how to do it for a different reason. Hmm. I was trying not to go into too much detail there and it might have failed the other way. Needless to say, I'm excited about it.

I also overheard some people talking about a co-worker. Which made me wonder, what do people say behind my back? Because it's foolish to think that you aren't talked about.

Ben left work before I did because his server was down, and he was making dinner by the time I got home. Yay food! I brought in donuts to work this morning. I was relieved so see that no one else had brought food in. Yay donuts! Ben is jealous of my donut infatuation so I got him a special one to show him that I was thinking about him even when I was thinking about donuts.

Monday

I woke up today and there was about 3" of snow on our back deck! It was beautiful.

Then Dale, who has a car that isn't working so well, messaged me at work saying "I hope you're happy"
Me: "Yeah! I took a picture of the backyard this morning."
Dale: Me too. Then I scrapped the car.
Me: !!What?
Dale: Oh, I mean scraped.
Me: :)

Hmm. Nothing else special seemed to happen right today. A ton of people are gone because of Thanksgiving and the rest seem to be almost on break. Ben and I are trying to work a few extra hours so we can leave early on Wednesday, but it is hard. I was the last one at work and I'm never the last one there.

Oh, and I love hot showers. They warm me up so well.

Sunday

Well, this morning we visited a church for the second time. It was okay...things I like, things that are ok. I feel so homeless Sunday mornings without a church. Then we went to get our hair cut and a Christmas tree. The new fad is apparently "Pre-lit" trees. Which is great and all, but (1) they are about twice as expensive and (2) what do you do when they burn out? That gave us two options: a 6.5' for $40 or a 7' (and a bit wider) for $100. We kind of wanted something even taller but in the end decided that 6" wasn't worth $60. It will still be Christmasy.

Saturday

Well, it was a pretty normal Saturday. We did some chores, played a lot of Warcraft. There is a new instance that we've been enjoying. I want to start blogging more. It's like a journal. Almost. Close enough at least to help me remember things.

This is Amalle (my character) in Warcraft. We're in the instance I mentioned above. I mainly included this so I would have a picture.
