Saturday

Isaac wore sock monkeys today.  So we played with the sock monkey jack-in-the-box.  (By the way, does anyone else think it is weird that there are so many jack-in-the-boxes that have monkeys in them when a weasel goes pop during the song?)  Isaac is good at looking at the camera, but not so good at smiling at it yet.

Ben also put together our new grill.  We haven't used it yet as we forgot to get propane.

Friday: 14 weeks

Once again, we have some pictures on the quilt.

Isaac got the next size diaper today.  They seem so big!  And they are big, but they're fitting better than the smaller diapers.

Ben was home today.  It was nice.  I got to take a nap!

Thursday: new trick

Isaac's new trick of the day seems to be pooping in freshly changed diapers.  We spent a lot of time on the changing table today.

Isaac also tried to push himself across the floor with the help of his horse.  Sadly, the same thing that makes the horse slide easily also decreases the traction in his feet, so he didn't go anywhere.  If I put my hands against his feet he can push against them and move, but that isn't as cool.

Wednesday: one year

It has been one year since we've moved back to Michigan.  And while I'm glad we're back, I still miss New York.

Anyway, Ben and I managed to put a whole bunch of large stressful things in our life this year:
1. We moved twice
2. We sold a house
3. We bought a house
4. We got pregnant (stressful due to sickness)
5. We had a baby
6. Between the two of us, we started three jobs

Selling the house was by far the most stressful. But we made it through all of it.  And maybe it was good to put all of it in the same year; everything paled in comparison to selling the house.  And there were a lot of good things too!

Tuesday: things I like

Today I enjoyed going to the grocery store.  Isaac was in charge of holding the shopping list and gave me lots of smiles.

I also enjoyed watching him grab Mabel.  He is starting to grab with purpose.

I also like self-propelled lawn mowers.  Keep in mind that today was about the third time I've mowed the lawn.  I was mowing our front lawn, which has a very slight grade.  And I was working hard.  It crossed my mind that non-self propelled mowers must be really hard to use.  And I had no idea how I was going to do the hills that we do have.  And how it seemed really mean of me to have made Ben do the lawn in Owego.  Then Ben came out and said to switch the switch to make it self-propel.  It was awesome.  (The switch does not say anything about self-propelling being on or off.)  But...at least I got my exercise in for the day.

Monday: we're home

Today we were home.  Ben took another vacation day, and it was a nice day.  I took his 13 week/3 months pictures.  Isaac also weighed in at 14 pounds on our home scale...I weighed him because his diaper wraps seemed to be too small since we got back from vacation.  And they are.  So soon he gets the next size up!

This smile is just gas.  It looks like a cheesy camera smile though.

He wants you to know he is 3 months.

Saturday and Sunday: Florida

Saturday we went to a resort with some pools and a water slide.  On the way there (and on the way back) a family of four dolphins jumped in our wake.  There were even a baby dolphin!

This is Isaac chilling in the Pack n Play with Jacob talking to him.  Isaac was having a great time!

Sunday we enjoyed a delicious dinner and hung out at the house.

Isaac took several naps on Ben's lap today

We had to go home Sunday night.  We were a little afraid Isaac was going to be crying the whole way home since while we were in the terminal he wouldn't stop fussing.  But about two minutes before we boarded he calmed down and pretty much slept the whole way home.
