Sunday:snow
Do you know what really bothers me? TV shows or movies that have snow but actors that are not properly clothed. Who does anything snow related without gloves or mittens? Snow is cold and they should at least be cold when making snowballs or cleaning off the car.

Friday: puppy, cat, eyes
Last night before bedtime Joshua wanted a drink...sure, no problem. I was reading with Isaac, and when I looked up a moment later he was putting a towel on the floor. Huh...he must have spilled. Well, at least he was taking care of it. I look up a few moments later, only to watch him drink from a wide brimmed bowl and have half the water fall out. Luckily, he had put down a towel so it all got caught. :D

Isaac had an eye appointment today. Everything is fine. His least favorite part was the bright light that was shown in his eyes. He didn't like the air puff, but it was really the light that got him. (Oh, and it was pajama day at school.)

Thursday: vacation
Today Ben took a vacation day and I was on spring break. I brought the kids to school and then we slept in. We then went out to lunch and saw Captain Marvel. The movie started late, but it was just in time to get Joshua and Isaac. The boys were excited to have Ben come to pick them up.

Wednesday: Isaac
Well, mostly Isaac. These two brothers both stuck their heads out at the same time and it was cute.
Isaac has really wanted to play a game called Trash. This game is because it has simple rules. However, there is zero strategy at all. It reminds me a little bit about Red Black. (Side note: I looked up Red Black on the blog and couldn't find it. It was a game when Isaac was about two and involved turning over a card and saying its color.)
Pinewood Derby was today. Isaac had 'Silver Arrow.'
He got 3rd place from among the 1st graders! He was quite excited.

Tuesday: shelves
Our game closet has been a bit of a disaster for the last several months. This was compounded by the closet organizer breaking (somehow) and games falling out of it. We needed new shelves.
(Some of the games had been removed for measuring purposes, but this is sort of what it looked like.)
So I put some up!
And I put our games on them, and ended up with more room than I expected. I had been planning on putting more shelves in all of the "empty" spaces in the closet, but for now I think I'll add some to the upper right and call it good. It's a nice place to be able to store the chairs.

Monday: a silly day
It was a rather silly day.
Isaac has a silly smile.
On the way out of the grocery store, Joshua said, "I hear meowing from the place God lives. I think it's Flurry."
Joshua and I went to Lowe's and I tried to make the cart go the way Joshua drove. He liked driving into dead ends. "It is hilarious!" "It is not hilarious." ...Which sent Joshua into his evil laugh.
We read "Don't push the button," which is not my favorite book. However, the boys love it.
I also had to explain Bolt again to the boys. They still don't understand why the green-eyed man showed up again at the end of the movie.
At karate we had to do some Superman Bananas. First you do a superman...lay on your stomach with hand and feet up. Not too bad. Then you need to flip over and do a banana...hands and feet still up. It was very difficult.

Sunday: real or fantasy? Apparently our kids can't tell.
(note from Ben: spoilers ahead)
This weekend we slowly watched the movie "Bolt". (We're slowly working our way through a bunch of the Disney movies now that Joshua is old enough.) Anyway, the movie is about this dog, Bolt, that thinks he has super powers, but really he is the star of a TV show and so it's all special effects. The dog ends up away from the studio and while finding his way back realizes he doesn't actually have super powers.
We're at the end of the movie when Bolt his saving his person from a fire. Joshua chimes in with, "he's going to use his laser eyes!" Ben and I wonder exactly what movie he was watching the whole time. Then after the fire it cuts to a scene in the hospital (where the person had been brought after the fire) but the bad guy is there and Bolt saves her with his laser eyes. Isaac says, "I wonder why they brought her to the hospital with the bad guy." Now, it was one of those odd transitions where you think you're in one place but then you need to realize you're in another...and we thought Isaac at least would have been old enough to tell.
Then at bed time Isaac pulled out one of his front teeth and was bleeding all over the place. It took Ben and I a bit to get to him, but he did a good thing and was rinsing with water. I put the tooth in a bag for him to put under his pillow. He was worried the tooth fairy wouldn't find him in the fort, so put it under the pillow in his bedroom.
