Tuesday: milestone
We're now paying more in principal than in interest on our house mortgage! A milestone!

Monday: 2steps forward, pause
I got a lot done, but it didn't completely feel like it. It felt like I got something started and then had to stop because I had done as much as I could for the time being. I know this is a normal part of work, but it was also a bit annoying.
I put my head into the attic for the first time. I should have done this before, although there's never been a reason.

Sunday: Happy Adult Day
Joshua decided that today should be Adult Day. It's like Mother's Day or Father's Day, but for any adult. He had a whole list planned out. He was going to make breakfast, we'd play a game, get presents after rest time, take an extra nap, and have a special dessert after dinner. I feel like there was one more thing too. In the end, we got everything crossed off the list. :)
We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I helped a bit, but made them at least get them started.
We didn't actually take an extra nap, but Joshua said it was a long nap. That's probably because Joshua woke me up in the middle of the night coughing. I also didn't like the sound of his breathing so he used the nebulizer and then we slept on the couch. I slept, but it took a while to get to sleep and then it wasn't great sleep.
After we got up Ben opened the presents. Joshua had made a bunch of Lego creations including a fountain, puzzle, and some hearts. Isaac made us some hug tickets. I told him I was going to save them for a time he didn't want to be hugged and he said that was fine. We'll see if he feels that way then.

Saturday: testing
Today I had a karate test. I felt like it was one of the best ones to date...I did about normal, but I didn't feel like they tested us on random new things. With the exception of two things that we should have known* it was all stuff that we had been practicing.
Isaac listened to an audio book on the couch with cats a lot today.
*The items were part of the curriculum, but since the curriculum recently changed there's a chance we've never officially learned it. It was just putting together two moves that we know well, but that still often takes at least a little practice before it is smooth.

Friday: a new low
I reached a new low this week. On my to-do list I put that I needed to clean up my to-do list.
To be fair, it really needed to be done. There were several items that weren't important anymore and could be removed and several items relating to books that just needed to be put in a different place.
I also got a ton of stuff done this morning. There were many short tasks, but they all need to be done. I also finished going through and doing a quick clean-up of the rooms I thoroughly cleaned last year. I was hoping to finish by the end of September and I did! I'm excited to start new places.
Overall, I also reached another low in my number of to-do tasks. I've been tracking them periodically over the last few years. I average about 68 items, but had a high of 98 at the end of the summer. I'm now down to 48, but we'll keep in mind that not all of those are important.
Thursday: same ol', same ol'
It really wasn't that exciting of a day. I feel like I've had a lot of those lately and honestly, I'm fine with that.
Teaching went fine. We moved on to pivot tables. I sort of hate teaching when some students have Macs and some have Windows machines. I try to be inclusive of the Macs but miss a lot of things. It would probably be a good real-life analogy for several other issues society faces. I try, but I miss stuff because I can't even see that their screen looks different from mine. Most students are able to jump that hurdle of being different, but sometimes it's too big. I don't really know how to change it, so I just keep doing what I'm doing and making notes when things are different to do them better in the future.
All our after school events were canceled, and it was nice. It's good to do things, but it's also nice not to do things. We bought some new shoes for the kids.
I made twice baked potatoes for dinner. I added a bit too much milk, but they still tasted wonderful.
My computer was messed up. Ben fixed it, (yay Ben!) although it required a reset. All the files were saved, but I need to download all the applications again. I don't have a ton that I'm using right now, but it's still a bit annoying.
