Monday: progress

The kids made progress on important things today.

*Isaac remembered to try and go quickly during writing time and finished what he was supposed to do.

*Joshua got the bottom buckle of the seat belt buckled by himself 1.5x today.

*Isaac's other front tooth finally fell out.  I've been expecting it anytime, as it was almost in the middle of his mouth for the last few days.

Wednesday: kids

Isaac was told to get dressed and start cleaning his room once I left for work.  He went into our room as Ben was getting ready and told this to Ben.

Surprise!  He was dressed!

And then he went under the covers in order to be attacked by the kitties.

Joshua fell asleep during rest time.

After rest time I had some plans of things to do with the kids.  However, they were playing so well together that I just did the stuff by myself and let them do their thing.  It seemed like they were hiding from me and collecting shiny things with a home base in Isaac's room.  I was a bit sad they chose Isaac's room because he had finally finished cleaning it with Aunt C this morning, but when I went in a bit later it wasn't too badly destroyed.

Tuesday: cat litter

Today we put the litter boxes in their final spot with some mats around them to collect litter.  I was looking at the handout that came with it and noticed this:

(USAGE: Put the mat under the litter box so that the litter is tracked everywhere.)

Sunday: coming home

Amanda: Isaac, did you miss me?
Isaac: um...
Amanda: oh.
Isaac: I missed the kitties most.  Then you.  Then Dad.

Isaac: I thought you'd be more excited to see me.  (Isaac got home while I was at church.)  That you'd jump and grab me and stuff.
Amanda: Well, you were hiding behind the couch.

Saturday: with Joshua

We stayed pretty busy today.  We gave Joshua a little creative Lego set and he did two of the four animals, mostly by himself.

Later in the day the angler fish and red fish were down in the basement and pretending to be bad guys.  Joshua had told me I was the boss, so I decided I was the bad guy boss.  I was ordering them to do assorted things.  So then I ordered them to go find another bad guy.  A red dragon stuffed animal came down, and I interrogated him:

Amanda: what is your name?
Joshua: Dragon dragon
Amanda: what is the worst thing you've ever done?
Joshua: Been a good guy

Ben and I cracked up.

Friday: Spring Break, day 1

It was a good day.  The boys played with the marble arena for quite a while in the morning.  The suddenly it was time to get dressed and go to the church bounce house!

We came back for lunch and rest time.  Isaac also packed for a short weekend with my dad.  (He did a pretty good job of getting all the clothes he needed together all by himself!)

I got in an extra karate class due to a snafu yesterday.  Honestly, it was great because there were only two students there and we did a lot of the things I feel least comfortable with.

With Isaac gone, Joshua got to choose the restaurant for the evening.  Surprisingly, he chose Brann's (due to the candy machine).  While you can't tell it in this picture, he's trying really hard to move my arm.

And what would a special weekend without your brother look like without a sleepover with your parents?

Thursday: arena

Well, due to the beginning of spring break I brought out a new idea.

We made an arena for marbles and bouncy balls.  There has been a firm "no marbles" in the main area rule for quite some time.  This way we can keep them contained.  The boys had a great time with them...they took out several toys and played well for quite a while doing...I'm not really sure what they were doing.
