Sunday: tablecloth

I finally finished the tablecloth!

Friday

This morning I woke up and my first thought was, "Cool. I woke up without an alarm on a :00!" My next thoughts were to turn my alarm off and note that it was :20. I'm not really sure where my first thought came from.

I left work at 1:30 today. It was great. I got to take a nap and play some Warcraft before dinner.

Thursday: work

Today was oddly like yesterday.

I'm excited it's the weekend soon. It's been a long week. Except I'm said it's Spring Forward on Sunday.

Tuesday: my first text message

I sent my first text message ever. It only took me about five minutes. But it still looked ugly. I don't plan on sending many more.

Monday: more cats

I couldn't decide which was cuter so you get both.

Thanks to Judd and Megan for making their blog wider so I could figure out how to make mine wider so that the whole cat picture now shows up.

Saturday: work and domestic stuff

Well, I went into work for just a little bit today. I was hoping to be there under an hour and was there for just over, so not too bad. It would have been really short if I could have found the thing that I was looking for.

Then after an early nap I did more domestic stuff than normal...I made supper, strawberries with chocolate and chex mix. I also pinned another hem for my tablecloth.

Thursdsay: what a day

what a day, what a day. I knew it was going to be busy. We're pushing to have a lot of stuff done by 3:59am Monday morning. (ok, so we won't actually be working Sunday night, but you get the idea). Anyway, it brings us to a big milestone and we really need some good press. So I'm going along, doing my thing, thinking it is busy but handlable. Then someone comes and says we also need this other thing to be done. Oh really, I was told (not just under the impression but told) we weren't doing it...we ended up doing it. It isn't a very big thing to finish up, but it meant that I needed to scramble to get some guys going on it. In the middle of this I completely forgot about my doctors appointment. I felt bad about that.

It was a long and exciting day, so now I'm going to go to bed at 9. I'll probably read for a little bit, but I don't know how long I'll last...

Tuesday: work

I'm still working a lot which is why I'm not posting as much. I am getting tired sooner.

My camera's working again!

Here's Flurry enjoying a bag.
And a valentine from Nathan and Liz and a rose from Ben

Friday: our morning

While Ben and I were getting ready this morning, Flurry was in the bathroom with us. This is normal; there's water in the bathroom. Suddenly we hear her loud there-is-a-bug-it-has-to-die meow. It was rather surprising, since this is winter and there are no bugs. We look and she is pacing by the wall near the window.

She had found a nail.

She was so sure it was a bug though! Ben held her up so that she could feel it, which only sort of convinced her. She stopped pacing and meowing, but continued to keep her eye on it.

Then the smoke alarm went off. This surprised me a bit since there was no smoke and I thought we had just changed that battery. I hurried over and smelled, but there was nothing to be smelled. It started beeping once in a while so I knew it was just a battery thing.

Except it followed me to work.

It was my pager.

Wednesday: drilling

So Ben was doing some drilling today. No big deal. I was in the computer room, he was in the basement. I heard the drill so I knew Ben was drilling but then I smelled a burning smell. Then the burning smell got really strong so I hurried down the stairs, slightly worried.

Well, nothing bad had happened. He was just drilling near the vent so the smell quickly went everywhere.

I had another thought but I forget what it was.

We really only got one aircraft yesterday. I was mistaken. I thought I heard the second one come in but I guess it was something else.

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Tuesday

Today was pretty much the same as most other days. I worked. I solved problems. I made problems. I hoped to solve more problems than I made. (I think I failed today.)

We had two aircraft come today which brings us up to five.

Sunday

We got a paper shreader today. I really enjoyed shreading paper.

I really like doing errands between 7:30-8:30am on Sundays...no one else is out! Parking is close, lines are short, and the roads are clear!

I think my camera battery and charger were taken by the airport since I put them in my checked luggage. I know the battery thing is new, but why did they have to take the charger too?!? Stay tuned to see if I get it back or not, but I doubt it. I might pull out the older camera until I get a charger again.

Saturday: valentines

Happy Valentine’s day! We didn’t really do anything special today, though we did make chocolate covered strawberries and ordered in pizza for dinner.

I lost my camera battery charger and extra battery. I brought it with me last weekend, and now I can’t find it. My camera battery of course has died, so I’m sad that I can’t take any pictures…there were some I wanted to today, such as the valentine from Nathan and Liz and Flurry on top of the car in the garage. She likes to escape into there, and usually she hides under stuff so we can’t get to her. However, she’s been doing a good job of only going in there when we’re doing things like changing the liter so I’ve just let her come in. I think she knows that know so has become a little more adventurous.

Thursday: kitchen

Tonight I rearranged the kitchen a bit. I just didn't like the cook ware that was in the lazy susan in the lazy susan because it was hard to get to. When I went home I saw that Pat had food in her lazy susan, so I decided to try that. So now the cook ware is in the pantry. The pantry really needs more shelves (I thought that even when there was food) because there is so much wasted space. That'll probably be a project, especially if I like the new arrangement.

Wednesday: taxes

I did our taxes tonight because I was curious as to whether we owed or received and how much. We get a nice refund! I know it is ideal to owe just a little bit, but let's be honest...that just isn't as much fun.

Sunday: home

I made it home! Again my flight was early...we were in the car leaving at the time the flight was supposed to get in. It was wonderful. Ben was very happy to see me, while Flurry seems to not care at all.

Saturday: Betsy's wedding

Today was Betsy's wedding! She looked so happy. I pray that the happiness continues throughout their lives.

I also stopped by Jamie's and saw her and the kids. It was fun to see all of them a get caught up a little bit.

Friday: relaxation and rehersal

So I did have a wonderfully relaxing day. I read, slept, watched a movie, and did a little computer stuff. Oh, and took a shower. It was wonderful.

Betsy's rehersal was tonight. Dinner was good and we all laughed at some of their tales during dating. Then I was the picture person during the rehearsal...I took lots of pictures, so hopefully some of them turn out ok.

Thursday: the rest of the trip

The rest of the trip was also wonderful. I landed in Detroit a half hour early. Early! Can you believe it?!? I took a leisurely walk through the physodellic(sp?) tunnel, being happy the whole way through that was wasn't running, dodging people, about to throw up, etc. I think that place is the place I most regularly realize that I'm out of shape.

I saw someone waiting at my gate that looked like Nathan. I looked again, yeah, looks like him but he wouldn't be here. Well, maybe I should look from a different angle just in case. I saw a gold chain around his neck and again said, no, it isn't him. But every time I looked that way I had to do a double take. And then again when we were getting the luggage. It was a little sad that it wasn't actually Nathan.

It's kind of nice doing something by myself because I remember that I can do big stuff by myself, but I was also really missing Ben. I felt like I was missing something the whole time I was flying and I think it was him.

Thursday: Michigan

So I'm flying to Michigan today. Not only did the plane get here on time, but they are starting to board early. Here's hoping for a smooth flight!!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Wednesday: almost done!

I only have one more day of work this week! Woot! Then I'm flying to Michigan for Besty's wedding. I'm looking forward to Friday...no work and no chores. Although also no Ben. :(

Today was another long day at work, although I do feel like I got a lot done. And I don't think I'll have to take any vacation hours since I'll have 40+ hours in by the time I leave tomorrow.

Ben made a new recipe today...lemon Parmesan chicken. It was really good.

Monday: bleh

Today was a bleh kind of day.

But here's a cute picture from yesterday

Sunday, February 1, 2009

Sunday: superbowl

Today we watched the superbowl with Dusty and Laura. None of us really had a team we were rooting for, so we kind of ended up rooting for the Cardinals because they were the underdogs. However, we will all be happier at work tomorrow because there are tons of Steelers fans around here.

I think my favorite commercial was the Doritos' crystal ball. The tires on the moon car was second.

Saturday: pictures

I notice that I do really well posting pictures for a while and then do really poorly for a while. Anyway, here is Ben and his chair. And here is Flurry in her box.

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Thursday: Travis

Travis is here!

He brought Ben's new chair...Ben is rather excited.

Tuesday: e-card

Check out this amazing e-card!!

Tuesday: secret sister

So at church a bunch of the women exchanged names and then for the year you are someone's "secret sister." I don't know my person at all, which was a big bummer. But my secret sister brought me donuts on Sunday which Aaron gave to me at small group! Yum. I think it must be someone I know and someone that knows my love of donuts.

I decided I was pseudo on top of work today and so I'm not getting up early tomorrow. The thought has cheered me all night.

Sunday, January 25, 2009

Sunday

There was a special on Marine One on TV tonight that Ben and I watched. It was rather interesting, but they didn't have quite enough material for a full hour...several things were said twice.

Besides that, it was a wonderfully relaxing day.

Saturday, January 24, 2009

Saturday

Ben and I had tentativly made plans with Clay and Jess to go cross-country skiing today, assuming it wasn't too cold. Well, it was too cold (felt like -1 during the day). They were in Owego anyway, so stopped over for some quick games and then we tried a new restaurant.

The restaurant is only open for lunch, which is why I haven't made it there before. The food was good. We had to walk through a store to get to it, and the store was jam-packed full of stuff. We were almost afraid to move because we might touch something with our bulky coats and break it. There was also stuff hanging from the ceiling and we bumped into it a few times and were suddenly scared that we broke something.

Thursday: animals

Today on our drive home we saw tons of deer. I saw about eight, Ben thinks he saw about 20 (12 on the way to pick me up). I don't know if it was a little lighter outside or a little warmer or what.

Then when we got home we noticed the Flurry had found a stryofoam peanut. She loves the things, but she usually ends up eating them so we try to keep them away. Anyway, while we were gone she managed to open the box that we had received last night and get the peanuts out. I am sad and proud of her.

Tuesday: work and dongles

I think dongle is a disgusting word, although fun to say. Therefore, Ben used it a lot in conversation after I told him it was disgusting.

I feel like I'm putting in more hours at work and falling further behind. Not the best feeling.

Sunday: snow and bowling

This morning, as we were running a few minutes late for church already, we realized that it had snowed last night and that we really needed to shovel to keep our driveway from getting worse. And then we met an invisable train that caused us to take a short detour. We weren't too late, but still late enough that no one was in the foyer anymore and we missed a few songs.

I took a wonderful nap and then shoveled again because the plow had gone through and it snowed a bit more. However, it's warmer than it was and there was no wind so it was actually nice. Then I decided to go for a walk. I had forgotten how steep the hill is and was slightly regretting my decision. But then it started snowing some more and I got to go downhill, so the last part of the walk was nice again.

We went bowling as a good-bye party for a friend from church. She's moving to California. :( But, I broke 100 both games and the second one I think I got my best score ever! I'm the "A" on the bottom.

Saturday, January 17, 2009

Friday: cold

Well, yesterday was cold. So after dinner Dusty and Laura came over to our house for a fire, blankets, and hot chocolate. They also brought doughnuts and I got my favorite kind.

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Thursday: cold

Well, there seems to be a cold front going through the entire upper half of the US because everybody seems to be having really cold temps. After Christmas it was supposed to get warm out and melt the last of the snow on our driveway, but it didn't melt. And then we missed a shovel and once there was barely enough to shovel. Anyway, the result is that our driveway is now a roller coaster. You go up a little bit coming out of the garage and you wonder if you'll get out of the end of the driveway without scraping the bottom of the car.

We've tried shoveling a little bit and it somewhat works. The problem is that there isn't a lot of loose snow. So I think what is left is hard snow and then my boot sinks down into it. There must be a layer of ice in between.

Well, that was the excitement of the day. Work wasn't too bad but somewhat boring. People are frantically trying to get to a milestone but I'm not really involved and so am trying to stay away lest I get tasked with something.

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Nothing all that special happened today. Work has been going really well this week. I don't really know why because I can't name specific things that have happened, but I feel like I'm getting stuff done and it is worthwhile stuff.

Monday, January 12, 2009

Monday: matching

So this morning I decided to wear grey pants and a maroonish shirt. Ben got up and put grey pants on. I said, "You should wear your maroon shirt so we can match!" as he got out a blue shirt and put it on. The disappointment must have been evident in my eyes as I said "I won't even take a picture." Since we weren't going to be seen together today, he concided. I proceded to keep standing next to him as we were getting ready and smiling. So he offered to let me take a picture. And the background I choose ended up matching too!

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Saturday: bowling

I felt like doing something active tonight, so Ben and I went bowling. He did well the first game, I did well the second game (I broke 100!!).

The drive was a little scary though...it snowed all day and the plows hadn't come through all the roads. It was slippery. But not many other people were out so that was nice.

Saturday, January 10, 2009

Friday: friday night activities

I had an especially good time with Dusty and Laura tonight. I'm not really sure why...we didn't do anything different from normal. We went to Applebee's and then watched some TV.

I had taken a nice nap with Flurry after work which was nice and warm and letting me not fall asleep to early. I forgot to turn on the blanket to warm up the bed so I'm a little sad about that.

Thursday, January 8, 2009

Thursday: raid

Today is my first WoW raid in quite a while. So far it's going well, although I don't have any meters so I can't tell how my healing is compared to other people's. It is also only an hour into the raid, and I tend to get tired closer to two hours into it.

Flurry took a nap on my lap tonight. This is becoming a wonderful habit. I'm sure it will eventually become normal and I'll stop writing about it, but until then you can hear about it a lot. :)

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Wednesday: ice and friends

Well, today was very icy out. We did go in to work, but maybe shouldn't have. :) Oh well, it is a lot easier for me to do most of my work there.

We had dinner with Aaron and Heather and then played some Rockband. It was nice having four instruments. Good times.

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Tuesday:proof

So I have proof that Flurry's been sitting on my lap. She did it again today!!

I'm tired.

Monday, January 5, 2009

Monday: clean

Oh, the house is so clean right now. The appraiser is coming tomorrow so everything had to be picked up and at least more or less cleaned. So while Ben worked on the troublesome computers and his desk, I got the rest of the house. (I still think I won with the deal.) Everything is in it's place for probably the first time since we moved in, the floors are vacuumed or swifered, things are dusted, and the kitchen is clean.

I've been trying to get to this point for months. Guess it just takes a computer virus and an appraiser. :(

So with the cleaning and the first day back at work in two weeks, it wasn't really a fun day. But rewarding I guess.

Saturday, January 3, 2009

Saturday: still home :)

Ah, it was nice to be home. Although driving the whole way is annoying, it is really nice to wake up at home and not have to drive more. Flurry was incredably cudley today...she even sat on my lap at the computer for about 30 minutes. She rarely sits on my lap and I've never been able to get her to do it at the computer. It's been nice.

We've also put away most of the Christmas presents. I think that this is almost as fun as actually opening them, as you can see how they're used and how the fit or look in a certain spot. I also started taking down Christmas decorations and am about half way finished with that.

Friday: home

We made it home!

My back is really sore from snow mobiling.

Flurry was very excited to see us.

Thursday, January 1, 2009

Thursday: Happy New Years

Opps...I just realized that the title for the last post should have been Wednesday. :)

Anyway, Happy 2009! We watched Dick Clarke on TV and it was really anti-climatic. Each year seems to get a bit worse. Oh well...we got sparkling white grape juice and that is always good!

We went snow mobiling today. I got my own snowmobile which was very exciting. It is warmer and easier to hang on to and just more fun. :) The trails were rather bumpy but it was really pretty.

I also got the sewing machine out. Remember that sock from last Friday that kept falling down? Well, it got sacrificed to practicing. :)

Then I folded my headband. I usually have had it folded in half but now it is quarters and has a pretty pattern on it.

Thursday: Happy Old Year's Day

Happy old years day! It was somewhat relaxing today...we went to KMart and I got some thread and pins for my sewing machine (we'll see if they get used before I leave) and then all the girls got pedicures. The nail person had never seen nails like mine before, which I thought was rather weird...they seem to actually not be that uncommon. Oh well. I did get a cute flower sticker on them.

Then we went out for a nice dinner. They had party favors at the table so we had a lot of fun with those.

Us:
The artistic picture of the messy table that had way too many glasses on it
Happy Cheryl
