Monday: 4 months

Guess who is 4 months old?!?

Everything is delicious these days.

I hadn't put a bib on him and during the course of the 10 minutes that I was taking pictures he drenched his shirt.

We were trying for a head up picture

Try 2.  He only rolls over if you've set him up just right.  I'm not exactly sure what that setting is though.

He stared at this elephant for about three minutes straight today.

Sunday: water bottles

We reuse our water bottles.  It results in filling up several per day, and we've been lax about it the last two days.  So almost all the water bottles are empty.  I grabbed the remaining ones from the fridge and had a water bottle family photo shoot.  (Although I lost one at church this morning. :( )

It's kind of funny, but several of the water bottles have stories behind them.

*The middle Nalgene and the Nalgene on the right were a Christmas present to Ben a few years back because Flurry kept contaminating our water by drinking it from our glasses.
*The Metal ones (3rd and 5th from right) were a Christmas present from Mom and Dad Hilldore.
*The two Gaterade ones in the middle were the ones that started the "disposable" plastic water bottle collection.  Ben got them for me when I was sick.
*The one that says Freedom Village (in the middle) was from Aunt C last year when we went up to Cadillac.
*The one with dots on it (6th from left) was from a spa in Las Vegas.
*The one 3rd from left was from a Ladies Night out at Crowne Motors last year.
*The other Gaterade (2nd from left) was from Grandma Hilldore...I think at Easter last year because Ben needed something to drink as we were heading out.

Hurrary for water bottle memories!

Thursday: time to sleep

3:00am: I woke up and got out of bed, put on my robe, and realized that there wasn't a half baby in the living room that needed my attention.  (Don't ask for details...that's all I know.)  I wondered if Isaac had still woken me up without realizing it, so I went to the bathroom and got some water.  He was still quiet so I went back to sleep.

4:00am: Isaac wakes up hungry.  I was so proud of him...he had slept for 4.5 hours!  While I was changing him the first time he smiled at me...oh no, bad sign.  He's awake.  Well, maybe he'll fall asleep while eating some more.

4:20am: Isaac is awake and wants to tell Ben and I a story.  We don't want to hear it, so we open his door and turn off the monitor.  He just tells us the story more loudly.

4:40am: He finally goes to sleep.

6:00am: Isaac thinks it's time to wake up again.  It takes 20 minutes of convincing, but he changes his mind.

I hope tonight is better.  It's been rather rough so far.  Oddly rough, actually.  Usually he goes down with no problems.

Edit: He's also 17 weeks old!

Thursday: around the house

Yesterday while photographing weeds (or not weeds) I noticed that we can see under the fake roof under the deck.  It is not very well made and Ben and I are hoping to take it down sometime this summer.  Anyway, can you see the wooden boards in the middle of the photo?  And how much they've warped?  If that can even be considered warping.  It might be too severe.

My clothes line!  It sunned for a few minutes in the morning so I put some diaper covers out.  It proceeded to be not sunny and not windy, so they only dried a little bit.

I have a drinking problem.  Or a cleaning up problem.  It looks a little better now.

Isaac wore matching shirt and socks today.  He put the hat on for the photo, but it was a bit small.

The laundry is all unpacked!  Dad came and helped us take the folding doors off today.  While they nicely kept it hidden within the room, one of them blocks the "outer" door from closing if it is open.  So it was a pain because I always had to open and close two doors to get to the dryer.  Or if they were open I didn't have much room to get in and out.

I got a check for one cent.  I will be depositing it, but only because I have another check to deposit too.

Wednesday: weed or not weed?

So with moving into a new house, a lot of green things are popping up and I don't know what they are.  So we're going to play a game of "Weed or not weed".  I put some polls on the side of the blog for easy voting.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

Exhibit C

Exhibit D

 Exhibit E

Exhibit F

Exhibit G

This isn't a weed (well, the long leafed thing).  But we have a ton of it.  Do you know what it is?

Finally, Exhibit H

Tuesday: mouth

Today's theme was mouth.  But let's be honest, it is really just a reason for me to take pictures.

This is Isaac's mouth.

He uses it to give kisses. (Sort of)

And to eat bibs. (I just got a bad picture of him doing it.)

And rings.

Mouths are also used to "EAT YOUR FACE OFF!"

We also visited Betsy and Ethan!  Ethan and Isaac weighed the same when they were born...it's amazing to see how much Isaac has grown (and how heavy he's gotten.)

And finally, no support!  (Although, it lasted pretty much just long enough for me to take a picture.)

Monday: covers

When Ben and I went to bed last night, we noticed that the covers were skewed; there as a sheet corner between us and a quilt corner between us.  Who was stealing the covers?!?

Amanda was stealing the sheet.  Ben was stealing the quilt.  The blanket in between the two stayed even.

How does this happen?  It actually happens to us all the time. I understand one person stealing all the covers, but just one layer?

Does anyone else have this problem?

Sunday: super baby

Today we had a super-baby for a few minutes.  But then we had to turn the cape back around to catch the drool.

We also had a life group initial meeting today.  (Life group = small group = Bible Study)  This one went a lot better than the one in September.  And we have another date scheduled, so that's nice too!

Saturday: lots of stuff

The day began by the microwave breaking.  Bother.  But then I fixed it!  It was just a blown fuse.  But I'm not really sure how I even knew that microwaves had fuses...

Isaac sat on his own for about 20 seconds.  Not long enough for any pictures, but long enough for Ben and I to get excited.

I helped some friends move (although I wasn't able to help for very long).

We went to Scarlet's birthday party.  Allison made a gorgeous (and delicious) cake and it was nice to see people again.

Friday: 16 weeks and other fun stuff

Isaac is 16 weeks old!  This past week he started peeing while getting his diaper changed at night.  I find this extra problematic because by the time I realize what's going on, everything is all wet.  Then I can't think straight, so half the time I get him all redressed before deciding that the clothes are really too wet to continue wearing.  I'm working on keeping him covered better, but there are just some points during a change when that isn't possible.

Here he is looking out the window.  He had a rather grumpy day requiring a bit more holding than normal.  However, he also had an extra tiring day, so he slept a lot.

I got to talk with Jess today and that was a lot of fun...we haven't done that for about a year.  I finally found our hammer.  My first quilt pattern sold for the first time.  I put a new walker foot on my sewing machine and tried a new stitch.  Hooray!

Wednesday: this and that

Isaac and I were going to go to story time at the library, but instead we had house nap time.  (Flurry napped too.)

I put up our clothes line!  Isaac finally sat in the Bumbo seat without crying his head off, so he helped me at the very end after he woke up from his nap.

Ben and I went to see Hunger Games...it was really good.

Tuesday: toys

Here is Isaac playing with his toys.  He started out with his head at the top of the screen, but saw the taggy blanket and managed to rotate himself.  He was proud of himself for rolling.  I told him he was rolling about the wrong axis.  I know it is still early for him to be rolling onto his stomach, but it wouldn't surprise me if he does it sometime here.  It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't though, either.

The whole video is about the same...nothing all that different happens after the first 20 seconds.  And I'm pretty sure his mouth keeps opening because he wants the rattle to go in it.

In other news, Isaac got size 3 disposable diapers today!  Size one goes to 14 lbs and size three starts at 16.  We don't use enough diapers to justify getting a whole pack for one pound.

Monday: drool

It's been a few days since a picture, so I thought I'd give some of him drooling. (He does it so much!)  But we managed to get a few cute ones too.

"What, I'm cute?"

Sunday: good day

Today was a nice day. Nothing really special happened, but everyone was in a good mood.

And it's thunder storming! There was a loud thunder I thought would wake Isaac up, but he slept right through it.

Saturday: sleep

Today I thought I would talk about sleep.  My sleep, specifically.

1. It seems like I'm more tired now than I was.  I don't know if the newness is wearing off, I haven't gotten more than four hours of sleep at a time for three months, I'm going to bed later, or there are no "deadlines" that I need to accomplish stuff for.  Probably all of the above.  Wednesday I took three naps, but most days I've been getting in about two lately.

2.  When I get back into bed, it is easy to get in on my back or sides and pull the covers up.  But then rolling over onto my stomach takes so much effort.  I thought there wasn't a way to get into bed on my stomach while pulling the covers up, but I did it once.  I haven't managed to replicate it though.  So pretty much every time I crawl into bed I think about this problem.

Friday: 15 weeks

And again, we have some pictures!

He just woke up...I'm off to feed him!
