I thought I'd try my hand at a vlog. The sound is a little quiet, but pretty clear at least. If I assume that vlog stands for "video log", what does blog stand for?
Ok - first of all - you totally crack me up! Loved the vlog!! Fun to see and hear you!! Secondly - I feel so famous now - lol! I believe the "vl" in "vlog" is a good example of a consonant blend or cluster. A diphthong I believe refers to two vowels sounds in the same syllable - like "toy." It has the long "o" and "e" sounds. Digraphs are when two consonants make up one sound like "th." There you have it - your grammar lesson for the day!! Heehee!
So, blog is a shortening of weblog. I believe vlog is actually a portmanteau of video and blog rather than just a straight combination of video and log, but it's pretty close.
